Business Etiquette

Week 1 - Students will begin to learn what are soft skills.  We will discuss the impact of first impressions, body language, verbal communication, networking, to name a few.  We will role play certain scenarios to illustrate the mistakes people make in the workplace.  Students will learn what are their personal strengths and weaknesses.  We will discuss and learn the positives and negatives of using social media.  Week 1 is a mixture of lectures, student led discussions, student presentations to meet and to know our fellow students and instructor.  Grades will be given for participation.

Week 2 - Using the information from the week before students will begin to learn how to write a resume.  Students will learn the anatomy of creating a resume and a cover letter.  Students will create a resume that can be used to find a job or can be used for college application.  We will discuss how to prepare ourselves for an interview and how to interview for a job position.  We will have mock interviews in class.  Grades will be given for a completed resume and for class preparation in the mock interviews.

Week 3 - .  Students will begin with Warm Up Sketches (Assignments Sections) 20 min.

Students wil begin to learn how to sketch by learning shade and shadow.

Week 3 - We will discuss the basic question, "What is ARCHITECTURE?"  Why is it so hard to answer this basic question.  We will begin to discuss the many interpretations and elements that can contribute to architecture.  We will begin the discussion on canonical buildings that have changed the direction of architecture.  Students will present to the class of a specific building or space that has impacted them.  Grades will be given for participation and presentation.
