This website serves several purposes. The principal reason for this website is for our students who are currently taking our courses in the Principles of Architecture, Interior Design, and Construction; Architectural Design; Advanced Architectural Design; and Practicum of Architecture. The secondary purpose is to educate students who are interested in these disciplines and where they can find information regarding the education of these careers. The third purpose is for the general public (students, parents, and educators) who are interested in the education of architecture in the high school level. This website is an ongoing project and is for informational purposes only, if you find any mistakes or want more information please do not hesitate to contact me at xavier.martinez@springbranchisd.com or fuad .loutfi@springbranchisd.com. I would like to thank ArchDaily, YouTube, and Vimeo for using their websites.
The Department conceives architecture as a discipline and a profession. It is structured in five semi-autonomous discipline groups: Architectural Design; Building Technology; Computer Technology;
History, Theory, and Criticism of Architecture and Culture.
The Guthrie Center's Architecural Department is dedicated to training exceptional architects, interior designers, and construction managers who are enriched by a global view of the disciplines and are prepared to serve as cultural leaders of the 21st century. Our goal is for all students to enter a 5/4 year degree program, 2 year degree program, or receive a technical certification.
I would like to THANK AIA Houston for their support to all high schools teaching architecture. I would like to THANK Kirksey Architects, for their continous support of the Guthrie Center.
